Symmetrical reducers

PW Kral

Optimal diameter transitions in pipelines

PW Kral symmetrical reducers are elements connecting pipelines of different diameters. We offer them from carbon steel pipes (S235JR, P265GH) and stainless steel (AISI 304, 316L) according to EN 10253-4 and ANSI B16.9 in sizes from DN 15 to DN 2000 and wall thicknesses from 2 to 20 mm. Thanks to their symmetrical geometry, they ensure smooth flow, minimizing turbulence and pressure loss in the system. Each reducer is 100% tested and comes with a 3.1 certificate.

Most Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between symmetrical and eccentric reducers?

Symmetrical reducers maintain the flow axis, which minimizes turbulence and pressure loss in the system. Eccentric reducers shift the flow axis in one plane, useful where condensate drainage or prevention of contaminant buildup is required. Symmetrical versions are often used in long horizontal pipeline runs, while eccentric ones are used for vertical transitions and sloped layouts. We manufacture both types from the same materials and standards, adapting their shape to project requirements.

PW Kral produces symmetrical reducers from carbon steel pipes S235JR and P265GH, as well as stainless steel AISI 304 and AISI 316L. For chemically aggressive media, high-temperature service, or corrosive environments, we recommend stainless steel. All materials carry 3.1/3.2 certificates according to EN 10204, ensuring full identification of chemical composition and mechanical properties. This guarantees long-term, trouble-free operation.

PW Kral symmetrical reducers are manufactured in accordance with EN 10253-4 for bends and ANSI B16.9 for butt-weld fittings. Each item undergoes dimensional inspection, internal surface roughness measurement, and non-destructive tests: penetrant (PT) and ultrasonic (UT). Certificates 3.1 and 3.2 according to EN 10204 confirm material compliance with documentation and standards. This ensures tightness and strength even under the most demanding industrial conditions.

Standard symmetrical reducers available in stock are shipped within 5–7 business days. Custom-made items typically require 2–4 weeks of production, depending on diameter, wall thickness, and complexity. With our own machine park, we can expedite orders and offer express processing for an additional fee. We always inform you of the expected delivery date so you can plan installation without delays.

Consider connection diameters, the medium type, operating pressure, and conditions (temperature, chemical aggressiveness). Symmetrical reducers are ideal for horizontal pipeline runs with constant flow, while eccentric reducers prevent air pockets and assist condensate drainage. Our technical support will help you select the proper material and pressure class, and verify if additional reinforcements or tests are needed.
