Most Frequently Asked Questions
What are Hamburg elbows and what are they used for?
Hamburg elbows are bends made from steel or stainless steel that allow changing the direction of flow in pipelines. Thanks to precise bending, these elements maintain uniform wall thickness and minimal internal stresses, which enhances the durability of the entire system. They are used in steam, water, and gas installations, as well as in the chemical and petrochemical industries. Compared to welded elbows, Hamburg elbows guarantee better fatigue strength and tightness, which is crucial in pressure-bearing installations.
What materials do we use to manufacture Hamburg elbows?
PW Kral produces Hamburg elbows from carbon steel pipes of grade S235JR and structural steel P235GH, as well as from stainless steel AISI 304 and AISI 316L. The choice of material depends on the medium and operating conditions – stainless steel is used in aggressive chemical environments and in the food industry. All pipes come with material certificates and compliance certificates according to EN 10204. This ensures that you purchase elements resistant to corrosion, high temperatures, and mechanical loads.
What standards and quality tests do our elbows meet?
What is the lead time and minimum order quantity?
Standard Hamburg elbows from available stock are shipped within 5–7 business days. For custom-bent elements, the production time is usually 2–3 weeks, depending on pipe diameter and wall thickness. We do not set a minimum quantity – we accept both single pieces and large-scale orders. Thanks to our own machine park, we can respond flexibly to customer needs and simplify the ordering process.
